Shams说道：“我目前很关注的是，詹姆斯仍然有可能会选择执行球员选项，但他要到了周日才会做出决定；除此以外，很多其他球员也会在周日做出决定（是否执行球员选项）。”
詹姆斯拥有下赛季5260万美元的球员选项，如果跳出合同，他能和湖人签一份3年1.753亿的新合同，自2018年以来，詹姆斯已经和湖人签了四份合同，其中只有一份超过两年。
